Twelve Southeastern Conference swim programs gathered in Columbia this past weekend for the SEC Championship meet. Swimmers from various teams reacted to Missouri’s pool.
**Caeleb Dressel, Florida**
“I really like the pool. It’s a nice facility. The blocks are nice, the walls are fine, they’ve got a lot of room. They’ve got the whole gym open for everyone. I like it. It’s very nice.”
_Dressel won the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly. Dressel also set a U.S. record at the meet in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. He’s a member of the U.S. National Team in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle._
**Madeline Banic, Tennessee**
“The pool is great. Great water, great feeling. We swam here at a dual meet and it was great then, too. I really like this pool so far.”
_Banic was a member of Tennessee’s winning 200-yard medley, 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay championship teams._
**Olivia Smoliga, Georgia**
“It’s beautiful. I came here for a grand prix in 2012. It’s such a nice setup. The pool is pretty cold, so I warm up in the diving well as much as I can, but it’s awesome. The fans cheer really loud. You can hear everything. It’s a fast pool, and I really like it.”
_Smoliga was the winner of the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke champion. She is a member of the U.S. National Team in the 100-yard backstroke._
**Jack Bauerle, Georgia**
“I’m real impressed. I like it a lot. They run a good meet, and I think the pool is good. Actually, great.”
_Bauerle is the head coach of the Georgia team. He also coached the U.S. women’s swimming team at the 2008 Olympics._
**Matias Koski, Georgia**
“I think it’s great. I’m used to the Georgia pool; it’s a lot warmer. But it’s a great pool.”
_Koski was the 200-yard freestyle champion. He competed for Finland in the 2012 Olympic Games._
