MU Health Care’s primary test site will no longer require pre-scheduled appointments for COVID-19 testing starting this Monday, according to a MU Health Care press release.
At 2003 W. Broadway, Suite 100, in Columbia, the test site is implementing the walk-in option to help consider people who need a travel test, were exposed to COVID-19 or have mild symptoms. Anyone can walk in Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., to get tested for COVID-19. Patients must wear a mask and bring proof of insurance, but the testing is free. If you don’t have insurance, you will receive a bill.
The increase in demand for testing made MU want to make it as easy as possible for people to get tested. This is so people won’t have to locate urgent or quick care locations. Eric Maze, in charge of the media relations at MU Health Care, said convenience is key for MU Health Care.
Test results are available on HEALTHConnect, MU Health Care’s patient portal, 48 hours after testing. If you test positive, you will receive a phone call. Maze said HEALTHConnect keeps track of patients and their test results.
