
Sept. 18: Truman’s Trot 5k
The inaugural Tiger Trot 5k benefits the Celebration of Women’s Sports Fund, a fund seeking to enhance the experience of Missouri female student-athletes and their respective programs. The event begins in Parking Lot CG17/W off Tiger Avenue and requires a $35 fee to participate. It will go from 6-11:30 a.m.
Sept. 20: Love your major
Unsure of what to do in life? Or considering changing your major? No worries! This event is made just for you. Career Specialists and Student Ambassadors will help you find your path in the Student Center from 12-3 p.m.
Sept. 21: An Evening with Aly Raisman
Here’s a chance to meet the third most decorated American Gymnast of all time! In Jesse Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Aly Raisman will share her story, talking about mental health, positive body image and the importance of self care.
Sept. 22: National White Chocolate Day
Everybody loves chocolate! Treat yourself, friends or family and purchase some white chocolate to enjoy the day.
Sept. 23: Soul Sessions
Want a break from work for a night? Attend Soul Sessions at The Blue Note. The only thing you’ll be concerned about is how snazzy that music sounds. General admission is $10, doors open at 7 p.m.
Sept. 24: Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is a massive festival celebrating German culture! If you want to give it a try, take a trip to Southside Jefferson City to experience the ‘wurzt, lederhosen and pretzels firsthand.
Sept.28: Sex in the Dark
Self-conscious about sex talk? This is a unique opportunity to ask all your questions regarding sexual health! Once the event starts, the lights go off, you turn on your glow sticks and the Q&A will begin. You can find the event in the Student Center, Room 2206 A&B from 7-8 p.m.
Sept. 29: National Starbucks Day
Take a trip to your nearest Starbucks and treat yourself to celebrate this day! Grab a latte on campus at Memorial Union and Southwest, or take a trip down 9th St.
Oct. 1: Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival
Down in New Franklin, Missouri, you can enjoy roasted chestnut samples, wagon rides, local artisan vendors and food from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Take a trip with your friend to the Horticulture and Agroforestry Research farm to see what it’s all about.
Oct. 4: National Cinnamon Roll Day
Nothing tastes better than a sweet treat fresh out of the oven. Go make some homemade cinnamon rolls! Or stop by Uprise Bakery or Scooter’s Coffee to grab yourself one from the professionals.
Oct. 8: Restorative Yoga
Try something new and give this $12 yoga class a chance! For just an hour from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Tamara Sack Yoga, you can practice breathwork, recover and relax after a stressful week and become one with yourself.
Oct. 10: World Mental Health Day
It’s difficult remembering to always take care of yourself, especially when things seem like they will never slow down. Take this day for yourself to appreciate yourself and all things beautiful.
Oct. 14: National Dessert Day
Who doesn’t love a good dessert after a hard day? There’s so much to pick from and not a bad choice!
Oct. 17: Black Poetry Day
Dive into the work of African American poets and maybe write a poem or two yourself.
Oct. 19: National LGBT Center Awareness Day
Want to help spread more information about the resources available to the LBGTQ community? Use this day to celebrate all the amazing things provided by these centers.

Put your fall baking skills to the test! Look up a recipe to create this tasty cheesecake.
Oct. 26: National Pumpkin Day
Grab your friends, pick out a few pumpkins and get to decorating however you want! It’s a mess, but it’s a memory to remember.
Oct. 28: Pumpkin Decorating with Filipino Association
Bring your Halloween costumes and join the Filipino Student Association and Kappa Pi Beta in Memorial Union Room N241 A for some pumpkin decorating from 5-7 p.m.
Oct. 30: National Candy Corn Day
It may not be for everyone, but it definitely is a sweet treat to enjoy the day before the real fun begins. Go get yourself a bag or two at your nearest grocery store!
