Fans in the student section cheer during the game one Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at Faurot Field in Columbia, Mo. Many of the fans were decked out in black and gold to support Mizzou, though there were some fans supporting North Texas.
Raytown High senior Logan Reichert announced his commitment to play football at Missouri on Sept. 8, his 18th birthday, choosing the Tigers over the University of Oregon.
The four-star recruit chose in-state Missouri despite receiving offers from Power Five programs such as Duke, Oregon and Auburn.
This latest addition to the team marks Missouri’s 11th commitment of the 2023 class.
Reichert stands at approximately 6 feet, 6 inches, weighing in at 350 pounds. His size allows him to efficiently play at the offensive line.
Reichert’s 6-foot-10-inch wingspan provides him a significant advantage over competitors. He possesses the physical traits of a tackle; however, his play style is more similar to that of a guard.
He attended Raytown High School near Kansas City, where he played both basketball and football. While playing football for Raytown, Reichert notched First-Team All-State, All-Conference and All-District honors last season. He also helped lead his team to the third round of the Class 5 State Championship.
Key parts of Reichert’s game include his size and athleticism, which oftentimes make him a mismatch for defenders. The way he plays has drawn some comparison to Georgia’s Devin Willock.
Reichert has also shown a strong block-finishing conviction and a strong physical presence on the offensive end, according to a 247 sports report.
While the expectations for Reichert loom large, Missouri football fans anxiously await to see him in black and gold threads next season.
