Poet Bri Davis writes a new poem for Women’s History Month to shine a beam of light on the women that make us so strong.
Who do we love?
women.
Who do we believe in?
WoMeN.
Who runs the world?
WOMEN!
It is athletes.Like Simone Biles,And Serena Williams,Who make women stronger in sports.
The entrepreneurs and activists.Like Oprah Winfrey,And Malala Yousafzai,Who encourage women to reach for the sky.
Our artists, musicians and painters.Like Ida B Wells,Frida Kahlo,And Amy M Knopps,Who show women the beauty in creativity.
The women in our everyday lives.Mothers, sisters, aunts, best friends,Doctors, authors, technicians, teachersEven yourself.
We all come with different minds.
Different faces.Personalities.Eyes.Hair.Beauty marks.Styles.
But as one?
We are fearless.Powerful.Confident.Uplifting.Ambitious.Passionate.Unstoppable.
There’s nowhere to go but up for us.We have no intention to stop.
At full speed we run,Hand in hand,To the top of the hill.
To shine as bright as the sun.
