Photo Story: RHA holds campus-wide event to begin homecoming week

Students wait in line to get a meal from The Patty Wagon on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023 at Hudson and Gillett Hall in Columbia, Mo. There were many vendors stationed around campus, one being in every resident hall neighborhood.

A large canvas sits outside of Hatch and Hudson Hall waiting to be judged for a Homecoming competition. It was designed and painted by members of Hatch Hall’s hall council as well as its residents.

A vendor from Ozark Mountain Biscuit & Bar hands RHA President Derick Stolba an item from their menu. Ozark Mountain Biscuit & Bar has been serving scratch-made biscuits to the people of Columbia since 2013.

A large canvas hangs on an outside wall of Hudson and Gillett Hall, waiting to be judged for the canvas competition. The image on the canvas depicts William Hudson and Mary Louise Gillett, respectively, each of whom are the namesakes of the buildings.

Two students watch while their flavored lemonade is being prepared. The vendor is Fresh Lemonade Co., and they specialize in hand-squeezed, hand-made lemonade.

The canvas made by residents living in South Hall leans on the wall outside the hall’s main doors. The winners of the canvas competition will be decided by a group of judges who are a part of Mizzou’s Residence Halls Association.
