The dean’s list adds to a recent positive statistical trend for the university.

The University of Missouri named 11,617 undergraduate students to its dean’s list last semester – a figure that outperforms every other dean’s list for the last eight semesters. It also extends a years-long trend of more students making the list every year.
The list’s growth complements several other recent positive growth indicators for MU.
Five days after the list’s release, University of Missouri President Mun Choi wrote on his blog that MU is on a “record-setting pace” in terms of admissions. More than 21,500 students have applied for admission in the fall 2024 semester, which is 14% higher than last year.
“I’m looking forward to a great semester and another outstanding year,” Choi wrote.
As of fall 2022, the university’s retention rate is at 91.3%, which is the highest it has been in 10 years. The 6-year graduation rate, at 76.2%, is also unbeaten by the last decade. Degree conferral is also at a peak, with 10,926 degrees being completed in 2023.
