
Three tigers finish the tournament in the top 10
The Missouri women’s golf team finished in the No. 2 spot of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational with a total score of 871.
On the first day of the tournament, the Tigers held the No. 3 spot with a score of 581 after 36 holes. During the second day, Missouri posted the best team score at 290, moving them up a spot on the leaderboard.
After the two-day tournament, Missouri finished with three golfers in the top 10 and five in the top 20.
Melanie Walker led the Tigers with a second-place finish carding a two-over-par at -3. This marked the first top 10 finish of the season for Walker and the third of her career.
Jade Zamora completed her second top 10 finish, slotting in the No. 7 spot and scoring an even-par 72 at -1.
Addie Dobson achieved her first top 10 finish of her career in the No. 10 spot after a +1.
Ffion Tynan ended day one tied in the No. 12 spot but moved up to be tied at No. 11. The Arkansas transfer ended the tournament with a total score of 218 at +2.
Fleur van Beek finished the invitational in the No. 18 spot with a total score of 221 at +5.
Alexandra Berglund finished last for the Tigers in the No. 37 spot with a total score of 229 at +13.
Thirteen teams competed in the invitational, with host Kansas winning the tournament followed by the Tigers. Finishing in the top five were Kent State, University of San Francisco and Long Beach State.
The Tigers will finish their fall season with the White Sands Bahamas Invite hosted by Texas A&M on Oct. 18-20.
