A combination of both new and returning members of the team led to a balanced victory in the team’s first dual of the season
The Arkansas Razorbacks hosted Missouri women’s swim and dive at UREC Natatorium for a SEC showdown, with the Tigers walking away with a 174-125 victory.
This was the first official matchup the Tigers have seen in the 2024-2025 season. They came into the dual following the annual Black and Gold intersquad meet and have now improved to 1-0. As for Arkansas, this loss puts them at 1-1, with a win in their previous matchup against Drury University.
The Tiger’s path to victory was driven by 11 first-place finishes, spread between two relays and nine individual events.
Sophomore Lina Bank led the team with three first-place performances. Bank was the second leg on the 200 yard medley relay that earned first place with a time of 1:38.43 seconds. She also won both the 100 yard breastroke and 200 yard breastroke, with times of 1:00.41 and 2:13.45 seconds respectively.
Junior Grace Hanson and sophomore Francesca Smith were members of both first place relay teams, the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay.
Freshman Katie Greslik made a strong first impression in her second collegiate race, taking home first place and hitting a new personal record in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:55.32.
