The Tigers finished the meet with multiple solid performances to start the season
Missouri track and field hosted the Bob Teel Invitational on Jan. 31st and Feb. 1st. The Tigers saw 18 top-five finishes and five events won, continuing its hot start to the 2025 season.
The Tigers competed in only 10 total events and achieved success in all of them throughout the day. Multiple Tigers finished in the top five, and three events saw all of the top three spots held by the Tigers.
The main standouts on the field team were from the men’s shot put group. Senior Skylar Coffey claimed the No. 1 spot followed by sophomore Hayden Dixon at No. 2 and senior Rece Rowan at No. 3.
The Tigers on the track team also performed well, with senior Allison Newman finishing first, senior Anneken Viljoen finishing second, sophomore Rahel Broemmel finishing third and senior McKenna Revord placing fourth in the women’s mile.
Other standouts from the track team include senior Angus Beer finishing first and junior Ethan Lee finishing second in the men’s mile. Senior Steven Marks also finished in second in the men’s 60-meter dash.
The men’s weight throw saw more Tigers claim top spots on the podium. Redshirt junior Sam Innes placed first, while junior Garik Pozecki finished second. Redshirt sophomore Clayton Kamp finished third as well.
It didn’t end there, however, as junior Petra Gombas gave the Tigers another first-place finish in the women’s weight throw. Sophomore Reagan Kimrey finished right behind her in the fourth spot and freshman Anna Vedral finished in the third spot in the women’s pole vault.
The Tigers will now look ahead to the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1. The meet will occur in Missouri’s home facility, the Hearnes Center. This will be the fourth consecutive meet the Tigers compete in at home.
