
Missouri’s track and field team put its best foot forward in Arkansas
Missouri track and field went on the road for the first time since the Dec. 7 season opener, traveling down to the University of Arkansas, home of the Razorbacks. The Tigers were looking to end their regular season on a high note before postseason play begins at its next meet.
On day one, No. 20 Missouri men’s track and field team saw a few different standout performances, starting with Robert Hines placing third in the men’s 60-meter boasting a time of 6.83 seconds.
Three more Tigers entered the team history books in the men’s 3,000-meter invitational. Drew Rogers became the first Tiger to run the event in under eight minutes, finishing with a time of 7:56.00 at 19th. Right behind was Declan Tunney, taking the fifth best time in program history with a time of 8:02.92. Tyler Freiner claimed 30th place with a time of 8:08.65, 10th best in program history.
The women’s team also made an impact on the first day. Alicia Burnett placed the highest of any runner that day. She placed second for the women’s 60-meter invitational with a time of 7.23 seconds.
The biggest standout on day two was Jonathan Seremes. Seremes burst onto the scene just a couple of meets ago at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational. Seremes immediately made an impact, placing first in the men’s triple jump with a distance of 16.94 meters, breaking a program record that had been standing since 1978.
Seremes placed first at the men’s triple jump invitational, placing first with a distance of 16.83 meters. Seremes was joined by a fellow Tiger at the top, Sterling Scott finishing third with a distance of 15.98 meters.
The women’s high jump resulted in even more University history being made. Kristi Perez-Snyman set a school record with a 1.88 meter distance to take home a third place finish. Claudina Diaz was right behind her with a second best mark in school history, finishing with a 1.85 meter distance to earn a fourth place finish.

Euphenie Andre placed fifth in the women’s triple jump invitational with a distance of 13.30 meters. Rahel Broemmel also finished fifth in her event, with a time of 4:42.81 in the women’s mile. This marked the eighth best time in school history.
Broemmel was followed closely by Anneken Viljoen who finished in eighth place with the 10th best time in school history at 4:43.93.
The Tigers will now enter the postseason at the SEC Championships in College Station, Texas on Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 1.
