Receiving 172 votes, President-elect Logan Kuykendall and Vice President-elect Kaylie Lineback will lead the Missouri Students Association beginning April 2. The win wraps up three days of voting and a four-week campaign period
Logan Kuykendall and Kaylie Lineback of the MizzouMomentum slate have been elected as the Missouri Students Association president and vice-president for the 2025-26 school year, receiving 172 votes. The slate will begin the transition process immediately and will officially take office after their inauguration on April 2. A breakdown of the slate’s campaign promises can be found here.
“I’m really excited and I’m really glad that the student body was able to put their confidence in us,” Vice President-elect Lineback said.
193 undergraduate students voted in this year’s election overall — a 93.6% decrease in voter turnout from MSA’s Spring 2024 election, where 3,024 undergraduate students voted.
“While this vote count is lower than what we were hoping, it is understandable for a year with very little competition,” MSA PR Coordinator Greta Ripperda said in an email to The Maneater.
MSA’s Spring 2025 election was the first election in 11 years in which only one slate ran for the presidency. Without the need to campaign against another slate, MizzouMomentum chose to limit tabling and fundraising to focus on their policy goals for the year ahead.
“We were able to have more intentionality on what we did because we have a lot more time to focus on specifics,” Kuykendall said.
On the ballot, students could either vote in favor of the MizzouMomentum slate or leave the field blank.
Undergraduate students also elected 13 new academic senators to represent their academic departments in MSA proceedings. The new academic senators are as follows:
College of Arts and Sciences:
Quentin Collins
Cade Carman
Trey Trapani
College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources:
Kevin Lin
Ryan Alferink
Caleb Simpson
Trulaske College of Business:
Pb Branson
Harrison Lingle
Alexander Duckwitz
College of Engineering:
Drew Watson
Justin Sills
Ben Boyack
Missouri School of Journalism:
Cooper Ten Bruin
New academic senators will be sworn in March 18, at MSA’s next Full Senate meeting.
