On Mizzou game days, hundreds of volunteers and staff work to make games enjoyable for the thousands of fans in attendance

There’s a lot more to football game days than just the game. Hundreds of volunteers and staff work around Memorial Stadium before, during and after the game to put on a successful event for thousands of fans. From the entrance gates to the stands and the sidelines, the details at Faurot Field are carefully managed to create the electric atmosphere that makes game day unforgettable. The Missouri Tigers’ 52-10 victory against Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, Sept. 13, was only one piece of the full game day experience in Columbia. This collection of photos highlights the events around Faurot Field throughout game day.

Jack Andersen is a Joint-Visuals Director for The Maneater. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism and strategic communication through the MU Honors School of Journalism with a minor in theatre. In addition to his editorial role, Jack enjoys creating visuals for The Maneater graphics and photo staffs. Jack is also involved in Visual Communications Club, Alpha Psi Omega, Kappa Alpha Mu, PRSSA and Veritas. When not working in the classroom or newsroom, Jack can be found onstage in Mizzou Theatre productions, hanging out with friends, and covering the many events Mizzou has to offer.

Payton Johnston, Photo Editor

Payton Johnston is a sophomore at the University of Missouri. She is currently studying for a degree in journalism. Johnston has been on The Maneater since Sept. 2024, and now serves as a photography editor. In high school, she was on their teams publication and was on the photo staff for three years, two of those being as the Photography Editor-In-Chief. Outside of The Maneater, Johnston is a photography intern with Mizzou Athletics, and also does photography for her non-greek service sorority, Little Sisters of The Gold Rose.
