2025 Homecoming King: Joey Yancey, Alumni Association Student Board
What advice do you have for future students?
“Put yourself out there and get involved in your truest, most authentic form. I often sought out spaces that allowed me to express my character and leadership, and it gave back so much to me in return. I learned so much about who I am and was able to lead and mentor thousands of students at the university.”

2025 Homecoming Queen: Hannah Banks, Alpha Delta Pi
What is your favorite Homecoming tradition?
“My favorite Homecoming tradition is Campus Decorations. I love seeing the countless hours of preparation come to life and being able to celebrate the creativity and teamwork that go into every display. Each year, I’m amazed by what our student organizations are able to create.”

Zion Black, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
What does being a part of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. mean to you?
“I am a third-generation legacy in my fraternity, meaning my granddad and dad are both active members of my organization. Having the privilege to join them in that legacy means more than the world to me to call my dad [and] granddad brother and embrace each other is such a unique experience.”
Emma Brockman, Tour Team
What is your favorite thing about the Mizzou community?
“Without a doubt it’s the people. Mizzou is made up of students, faculty and staff who genuinely care, not just about the university, but about one another. I’ve seen professors go above and beyond to be there for their students, and friends show up in the smallest but most meaningful ways.”
Maggie Bunch, Kappa Kappa Gamma
What are you most proud to have accomplished while at Mizzou?
“I am most proud of the people I have managed to surround myself with. Columbia and the Mizzou campus are beautiful, but it really is the people who made the place. I have found people who I know will be lifelong friends and mentors who have made a profound impact on my college experience and beyond.”
Wyatt Carlson, Sigma Phi Epsilon
What are you going to miss most about Mizzou when you graduate?
“The people, hands down. It is very bittersweet to be graduating and moving away from the friends and groups that have been such an important part of the last four years. I also know that we will continue to be in touch for the rest of our lives, and I am very thankful for that.”
Mathew Kimaku, Alumni Association Student Board
How do you display leadership on campus?
“On campus, I display leadership through my ability to interact and connect with my peers around me. Through my involvement I’ve learned that leadership doesn’t come from a position or title, it comes from how you care about the people around you.”
Ben Peter, Phi Delta Theta
What does being Homecoming Royalty mean to you?
“I hope that I can use this platform to promote the real heroes of Homecoming: the students, faculty, SteerCo members and Red Cross employees who donate their time, talents, resources and blood to make a significant impact on Columbia and mid-Missouri as a whole.”
Katie Schnelle, LSV
What does being a part of LSV mean to you?
“To be tapped into LSV is to recognize individuals’ words and actions against sexual and racial injustice on campus and around the world, honoring their contributions to the Mizzou community and giving them the flowers they so deserve.”
Morgan Watkins, Sigma Alpha Professional Agriculture Sorority
How do you display leadership on campus?
“I believe leadership is best displayed by rallying around others. I strive to be the biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader to anyone. Leadership does not always mean being front and center but facilitating a community of positive support and genuine joy in uplifting others.”
