This offseason, the Missouri Tigers landed forward Jordana Reisma in the transfer portal from Cleveland State.
The 6-foot-3 senior is a physical post that plays with a high level of grit, which leads to her efficient offensive dominance and imposing defensive play.
Reisma saw success in the Horizon League last year, finishing the season on the All-League second team and All-Defensive team. The Wisconsin native ranked in the top three in her conference in total points, rebounds, blocks and free throws in her final season at Cleveland State..
Reisma is an all-around player who can post up, work through contact and get buckets. Opposing players rarely win a battle in the post against her due to her physicality and footwork.
She’s a force on the defensive end as well. Once the tape is rolled, it is evident that the 6-foot-3 forward gravitates towards the ball, which led to her 45 total blocks last year.
Reisma’s presence on the glass, as well as on the defensive end, will be a big help for the Missouri Tigers. She fills an important role for the Tigers, who ranked No. 14 in conference in rebounds.
Despite the Tigers losing their top two players in rebounds and blocks per game from last year, Reisma brings in more rebounds and blocks than both of them. She averaged 6.9 boards and 1.2 blocks per game — higher than last year’s leaders at 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks.
Reisma isn’t a typical lumbering post. She moves with ease on the court and can cover ground quickly.
Reisma was very efficient last year, leading all of the NCAA in field goal percentage at 67.7%. This will be a significant help to the Tigers, who ranked No. 13 in the Southeastern Conference last year in field goal percentage.
She reached this total shooting at a solid volume, going 5.5 for 8.1 on field goal attempts per game. Reisma also took five free throws per game, sinking 72% of them.
Last year, Reisma helped lead Cleveland State to the NIT Semifinals. Reisma nearly averaged a double-double in the postseason, putting up 10.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while notching eight total blocks in the four contests.
Reisma will bring a much-needed post presence on both sides of the ball to the Tigers, as an anchor in the paint for head coach Kellie Harper’s debut Missouri squad.
