No. 18 Missouri wrestling kicked off its 2025-26 campaign on Sunday, Nov. 2, hosting five in-state opponents for the Missouri Duals. The Tigers began the meet against Drury at noon, followed by Maryville at 1:30 p.m. and Central Methodist at 3 p.m.
Drury Dual
Missouri redshirt senior Luqman Masud defeated Bryson Humphries to open the Tigers’ first match of the day. Masud won by major decision 15-2, relying on a late near fall in the second period to secure four points for Mizzou.
In bout two, Redshirt junior Kade Moore took on Drury’s Deagan Fugitt. In a 40-second bout, Moore defeated Fugitt by fall decision, awarding the Tigers six points.
Redshirt freshman Nate Pulliam represented the Tigers in bout four against Mason Knight. Pulliam’s early takedown, second period reversal and late second takedown gave the Tigers six more points by fall decision.
Following the fall, Missouri redshirt junior J Conway faced off against Draven Wright. Conway’s takedown early in the bout earned him the only points scored, as the Tigers secured another fall.
In the final bout of the dual, redshirt sophomore Tiger Jarrett Stoner took on Brady Griffin for the heavyweight showdown. Stoner and Griffin traded takedowns and escapes, with Stoner getting a takedown, then Griffin escaping. Stoner’s final takedown was enough as Mizzou was awarded its sixth and final fall of the dual.
The Tigers swept the Panthers in their first match of the invitational, 51-0.
Maryville Dual
Following the win, the Tigers met Maryville on the mat for their second dual of the day.
No. 31 ranked Missouri redshirt freshman Mack Mauger faced Elijah Almarinez to open the dual. The bout lasted the full time, but Mauger’s late takedown secured the major decision outcome for the Tigers, getting them their first four points of the dual.
In the next bout, Moore took on Yashua Amen in the 133-pound matchup. Moore’s two near fall scores in the first period gave him a 9-0 advantage over Amen into the second period. He then earned two takedowns and an escape to finish the bout 17-1, giving the Tigers five points on a technical fall.
The fourth bout of the match saw No. 6 redshirt senior Josh Edmond compete against Collin Reif. Edmond put up 10 points against Reif’s one, getting the Tigers five points through a technical fall and the most individual points of any Mizzou wrestler on the day.
In the seventh bout, redshirt senior Joel Mylin took on No. 1 NCAA Division II 174-pound wrestler Cole Ritter. Ritter got the first point of the bout in the second period with an escape, but Mylin responded with a two-point reversal. Ritter’s takedown late in the second secured the decision for the Saints: their first win of the dual.
Redshirt freshman Aeoden Sinclair made his second showing at the duals in the eighth bout against Maryville’s John Gholson. Sinclair’s late first period takedown allowed for a pin and fall finish — his second of the day. He gave Mizzou six points, extending its lead to 32-3.
The Tigers locked in a 41-3 win over Maryville on a major decision from Stoner over Orest Nazarchuk.
Central Methodist Dual
Mizzou finished up its Missouri Duals invitational stint by taking on NAIA Division I Central Methodist, looking to finish the day with three wins.
Mauger started the dual for the Tigers, facing Warren Taylor in the 125-pound class. Mauger’s last of three takedowns was enough to secure the pin and fall for Mizzou. He gave the Tigers their first six points of the match.
Making his debut on the floor, freshman Boogie Harris wrestled Drew Cooper. In three periods, Harris got two near falls, with one worth four points. He bested Cooper 11-9, giving Mizzou three points in a decision.
After a Tigers’ major decision in the third bout, Edmond saw Alex Walker on the mat for the fourth bout of the match. Edmond, coming off of a technical fall against the Saints, got four takedowns against Walker with a pin to get a fall for Mizzou. He added six points onto the Tigers’ lead, making it 19-0.
Coming back from a loss to Ritter a dual earlier, Mylin returned to face off against Cody Hughes. Mylin earned two takedowns and a four-point near fall, but secured a pin on his second takedown to get the fall. He gave the Tigers six more points, padding their lead to 29-0.
Redshirt freshman Logan Cole made his Missouri debut by taking on Jacob Ruff and getting an early first period takedown. From there, Cole got two consecutive four-point near falls, finishing with a pin on his next takeaway for the fall. Cole’s first collegiate fall was the Tigers’ fourth of the match, as they led 38-0 over the Eagles.
Mizzou won its next two bouts with a technical fall and a decision. The Tigers finished with their second sweep of the day, winning 46-0.
The Tigers secured three wins Sunday, starting their season off 3-0. Mizzou now looks forward to the upcoming Tiger Style Invite Nov. 9.
