MU Police Department officers arrested freshman Justin Brown on multiple charges, including drug possession and distribution, Friday morning outside Defoe-Graham residence hall.
MUPD Capt. Scott Richardson said the police department obtained a search warrant for Brown’s room after an officer on foot in the area heard students talking and smelled marijuana.
Officers exercised the search warrant Friday for Brown’s room on the third floor of Defoe-Graham. According to an MUPD news release, they found Ecstasy pills, vials containing two different types of testosterone, three bottles of alcohol and glass pipes with residue. The officers also seized $4,390 in cash, a digital scale and packaging materials.
Brown was arrested for distribution, delivery and manufacturing a controlled substance near a school zone, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of false identification and possession of alcohol by a minor, according to the news release.
“He was the only one arrested, but this will take some further investigation,” Richardson said. “Our investigation is ongoing.”
According to the Missouri Revised Statutes, Brown is charged with at least two felonies: distribution, delivery and manufacturing a controlled substance on university property and possession of Testosterone Proplonate and Testosterone Enanthate.
Brown was charged with both possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of more than 35 grams of marijuana.
Brown’s possession of the glass pipes, false identification and bottles of Everclear, Captain Morgan and Jaegermeister results in three additional misdemeanors.
Brown, 19, was still being held at the Boone County Jail as of Monday morning, according to online records.
