**Patient injured in Psychiatric Center assault**

MU Police officers were called to the MU Psychiatric Center on Monday morning to investigate an assault.

“We were called to the psychiatric clinic in reference to an assault and when officers made contact with security, they found one patient had assaulted another patient,” MUPD Capt. Brian Weimer said. “There was a swollen red mark on the forehead of the victim and a red mark on the bridge of his nose.”

Weimer said no arrests have been made in the incident.

**Dispute over video game leads to assault**

Aaron C. Perry was arrested at about midnight Monday at 1704 Paris Road when he threatened a friend with a brick, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said in an email.

The victim told police the two are friends and were hanging out at another friend’s house earlier that evening. The victim said Perry was angry with the other friend because Perry paid for a video game, which the friend did not have for him.

Stroer said the victim told police he didn’t want to get involved with the conflict, so he left the residence and was walking home. Perry followed him and was angry the victim wouldn’t help him get his money back. Perry proceeded to pick up two bricks and threatened the victim, Stroer said. When the victim got home, Perry threatened to hit him with a weight bar. Perry was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.

**Suspect reportedly resists arrest while high on drugs**

A Columbia man was arrested on multiple charges early Tuesday, including driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

Bruce Stephens, 64, was pulled over by an MUPD officer at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

“When they finally stopped, they were at the driveway of 11 E. Ash St.,” Weimer said.

Stephens was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (drug intoxication), failure to drive within a single lane, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, operating a vehicle without a valid license and resisting arrest.

Weimer said Stephens’ failure to immediately stop when the officer turned on his lights was grounds for the resisting arrest charge.

Stephens was taken to Boone County Jail on $6,106.50 bond and released Wednesday.

Police make arrest in assault near Memorial Union

A Columbia resident was arrested Wednesday afternoon after reportedly assaulting a student near Memorial Union.

“Officers responded after an individual reported being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend outside Stewart Hall,” Weimer said. “It took place outside, over by the Union.”

The assault occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday. Renaldo Frye, 19, was arrested by MUPD officers on suspicion of third-degree assault.

“The officer said she had been struck on the left side of the face with an open hand, but he did not see that she sustained any injuries,” Weimer said.

Frye was taken to Boone County Jail and released Thursday on $1,000 bond.
