**Dispute results in assault, child endangerment charges**
A woman called Columbia Police Department officers at about 9 p.m. Monday concerning a disturbance at 5506 Hunley Court, CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said in an email.
The woman told officers that she and the suspect, Shane Bratkowski, were arguing when he came home from playing golf, Stroer said. The woman said he grabbed her hair from behind while she was sitting on the couch and holding her 3-week-old infant.
Stroer said the victim told police that Bratkowski nearly tipped the couch on its back. Bratkowski then reached around her head and grabbed her neck. Bratkowski tried to leave with their son, but the victim pleaded with him not to take the child. Stoer said the victim told police Bratkowski kicked her.
Bratkowski was arrested on suspicion of second-degree domestic assault and second-degree child endangerment. The victim did not require medical attention.
