1. Police break up 500-person nuisance party
CPD officers responded to a report of a traffic hazard at the 1400 block of Rolling Rock Drive on Monday morning at 1:33 a.m.
Joint Communications advised the officers that there was a party in the street with people and cars blocking the flow of traffic. The officers found the road complete blocked by a party of approximately 500 people, CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. Nicholas Colona, Andrew Drum and Jack Dwyer, all 21-year-old MU students, were arrested on charges of allowing the party to become a public nuisance.
2. Students arrested on charges of swimming naked in Brady Fountain
Two MU students were arrested early Tuesday after MU Police officers found them swimming naked in Brady Fountain.
“Basically, a couple of guys stripped down and got in Brady Fountain,” MUPD Capt. Brian Weimer said. “The officers were out on patrol on Brady Commons and observed them.”
Senior Brett Henderson, 21, and junior Adam Wright, 22, were arrested at about 2 a.m. on suspicion of indecent exposure.
3. Man urinating on sidewalk leads to arrest
A Smithville man was arrested on multiple charges after officers found him urinating on the sidewalk near University Avenue on Tuesday morning.
“An officer on patrol observed an individual urinating publicly,” MUPD Capt. Brian Weimer said. “When the officer tried to make contact, the individual took off and ran and the officers had to chase him down.”
Nikolaus Hargarten, 21, was found near the intersection of University Avenue and Ninth Street. Weimer said Hargarten was taken back to the MUPD station, where he continued to resist officers.
“When the officers took him back to process, he was banging on the door of the processing room,” Weimer said. “He then assaulted an officer in the processing room.”
According to MUPD records, Hargarten was arrested on suspicion of public nuisance, resisting arrest and simple assault.
4. Two arrested at Fieldhouse Bar
Police officers conducted a routine open business check at the Fieldhouse Bar at the 1100 block of East Broadway at 12:35 a.m. on Thursday morning, according to a Columbia Police report. They saw Emily Heidenreich, 20, with a cup of liquor. She was arrested on charges of minor in possession of intoxicants. While at the same bar, the officers noticed MU sophomore Michael Dunham, 20, with a beer bottle in his hand, according to the police report. Dunham was arrested on charges of minor in possession and possession of another person’s ID.
