The Missouri Tigers football team will begin its 2011 season Saturday against Miami (Ohio). The mood you’re in before the game begins sets a huge tone for the whole game, and these songs are sure to set anyone in the right direction for a gameday attitude.
“All I Do Is Win (Remix)” — DJ Khaled ft. Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz and T-Pain — The original “All I Do Is Win” was a hit last season at Faurot Field, but this year the song is back and even better than before. The new version has more guest appearances than you can count on one hand and, if you can believe it, even more bragging about how we’re simply, well… the best.
“Back In Black” — AC/DC — I personally had to rip this song from a burnt CD my friend made me in the sixth grade, but, nevertheless, it’s a great song to help prepare for a game. Adding “and gold” in the title is the only way to make this popular song even more relevant to Tiger football fans. Classic rock has a certain intensity that other genres just can’t match.
“The Good Life” — Chiddy Bang — Chiddy Bang has a way of sampling and mixing music in a way that gets everyone in an energetic and enthusiastic mood. The catchy puns and general good feel of this song will pump up any fan to remember why he or she spent a ridiculous amount of money on season ticket combos. The environment and feel-good emotions that are provoked when you’re surrounded by your classmates and alumni all decked out in school colors, all supportive of your team.
“Number One Spot” — Ludacris — The title seems to say it all, but this classic Ludacris song expresses how the Tigers feel about their goals for this year. Maybe this year we’ll follow in Luda’s footsteps and reach the “Number One Spot.”
“We Are The Champions” — Queen — This song is more of a post-game celebratory song, and, hopefully, on Saturday afternoon Tiger fans will be pouring out of the stadium singing this together. What better way to celebrate victory than to rub it in the loser’s face with a classic Queen song? Nothing.
