4. Greenhouse vandalized, suspect found with bloody hands
MU Police Department responded at 3:45 a.m. Sunday to a report of vandalism at the MU greenhouses behind Hatch Hall.
The suspect, later identified as Nicholas Golin, was reported walking south on East Campus Drive, near parking garage AV-14. Officers noticed Golin, 18, strongly smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes.
“The subject was seen near the area with blood on his hands,” MUPD Capt. Scott Richardson said. “He was asked whether he was okay and how he got blood on his hands.”
The witness could not confirm for sure whether it was in fact Golin they saw vandalizing the greenhouses, but officers had enough evidence to arrest Golin on a charge of second degree property damage.
MUPD estimates approximately $100 worth of damage was done to the greenhouses.
**UPDATE:** Charges were dismissed.
