**1. Police arrest wanted man in residential area**
Columbia Police Department officers arrested a wanted suspect after a chase through a residential area Monday. According to CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer, officers were dispatched at 12:06 p.m. to the area of 801 Gray Oak Drive to apprehend John Pimentel, 31, who had a warrant out for his arrest.
Pimentel was sitting in a vehicle at the location and attempted to flee from the officers. Pimentel struck one of the officers in the face in his attempt to flee, but he was eventually caught trying to run through a residential door. Pimentel was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary, resisting or interfering with arrest, third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer and a probation and parole warrant.
**2. One person arrested on charges of shoplifting from Walmart**
Columbia Police Department officers arrested an 18-year-old female Monday on charges of stealing from Walmart. Officers were dispatched at 12:09 p.m. to the Walmart Supercenter at 1201 Grindstone Parkway in response to a shoplifting claim.
The suspect, Alexia Bradley, 18, was seen taking items off the shelves and putting them in her purse. She then attempted to exit the store without paying for the items, but was stopped by store employees. Bradley was charged with theft and first-degree trespassing since she had trespassed in August 2011. She was also charged with use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
**3. CPD officers arrest one in charges of stealing liquor**
One suspect was arrested Tuesday on charges of larceny. Officers were dispatched at 1:16 a.m. to the Eagle Stop at 1704 Providence Road in response to a theft.
The dispatcher told the officers that an employee was holding down the suspect, Robert Melton, and then chasing him around the store. Officers located Melton, 46, at 401 Vandiver Drive. The victim said Melton grabbed three bottles of liquor and ran out of the store. When the employee attempted to restrain him, Melton displayed a knife. Melton was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, theft, unlawful use of weapons and a probation violation warrant.
**4. Man arrested on charges of doing drunk ‘donuts’ in parking lot**
Police officers arrested a man on charges of drunk driving early Wednesday morning. Officers observed a yellow vehicle doing “donuts” at 1:47 a.m. in the parking lot west of Truman’s Bar and Grill. The officers followed the car out of the parking lot and the driver attempted to evade the police. The vehicle was pulled over on a private driveway on Smoky Mountain Court.
The driver, Julian Dale, 21, was arrested on charges of driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated and driving in two or more lanes of traffic.
