1. Freshman arrested after fleeing from officers
An MU freshman was arrested early Monday after fleeing from officers in Clyde Wilson Memorial Park at 601 Rockhill Dr.
MU Police Capt. Brian Weimer said officers were in the AV-9 parking lot watching the entrance to Clyde Wilson Park when they saw three people enter the park just after midnight.
“The officers smelled the odor of marijuana and shined a flash light on the subjects,” Weimer said. “The third subject took off.”
Alan Brant, 18, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest. Neither of the others present were arrested.
2. Freshman arrested after exposing himself to cleaning person
An MU freshman was arrested Monday afternoon after exposing himself in the Defoe-Graham residence hall.
“The subject exposed himself to a cleaning person in the restroom on the third floor,” Weimer said.
Freshman Devin Reed was arrested on suspicion of second-degree sexual misconduct at 1:30 p.m.
3. One arrested on charges of marijuana possession
Police arrested one on charges of marijuana possession after being called about a larceny.
Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said officers were dispatched at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday to the area of East Broadway and Old Highway 63 South to deal with a larceny in progress.
The victim said the female suspect asked him for a cigarette and then took $120 from him.
The police located the vehicle that the suspect and its driver, Mason Glover, were in. Glover was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The female suspect was present, but the male victim did not identify her as the person who stole from him.
The female suspect was released and Glover was arrested on charges of possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
4. CPD arrest three after bar fight
Three men were arrested after an altercation at a bar.
Officers were dispatched at 11 p.m. Wednesday to a physical disturbance at The Bridge bar at 1020 E. Walnut St.
A male victim said Brandon Hinson, 23, punched him in the face. Pedro Cortez, 20, and Shane Baker, 20, were with Hinson and involved in the incident.
Hinson was in possession of four pills that are a controlled substance, and he was arrested on charges of assault in the third degree and possession of controlled substances.
Baker was also found to be in possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana.
