Dear University of Missouri students,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for all of your letters I received in response to Governor Nixon’s proposed budget. I have received hundreds of letters of apprehension over this situation, and I am pleased to know you are proactively letting your voice be heard. As students of the University of Missouri, I believe your input is vital to the impact of this budget, both for the university and the community as a whole. I understand your frustration in this important matter and agree with your concerns. As I am also currently a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia, I too would be hurt by the tuition increase as a result of the budget cuts.
Please be assured that I intend to do everything I can to prevent an increase in tuition, and I will encourage my fellow legislators to consider other options for generating revenue for the state.
Sincerely,
Stephen Webber
