The Columbia Fire Department responded to a report of a dead body found at Capen Park near College Avenue and Stadium Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.
Officials said suicide was the cause of death.
The body was discovered at about 2 p.m. at 1600 Capen Park Drive, which is connected to the Grindstone Nature Area.
The victim was identified as an 18-year-old Hispanic female. Her death is described only as a suicide, with no foul play suspected, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Authorities are currently awaiting autopsy results from the medical examiner to determine the exact cause of her death.
