Officers were called to 601 Rollins St. at 1:44 a.m. Sunday about an assault that occurred earlier in the evening at Broadway Diner.
The male victim at that location was found distraught with his shirt ripped at the neck. He informed officers he had been involved in a fight earlier at the diner. He had followed the suspect to the address where police arrived.
He said he tried to go into the fraternity house where the suspect entered, but Joshua Cloyd, 20, and Alex Davis, 20, prevented him. They both told him to get off the phone with police, which he refused to do.
Cloyd and Davis both pushed the victim to the ground and punched and kicked him when he would not hang up the phone. While he was on the ground, one of the suspects threw the victim’s phone across the parking lot. Bruises on the victim’s head, neck and chest were visible.
Davis and Cloyd were arrested on suspicion of one count of assault each and released on a signature summons. Chase Derousse, 19, who was involved in the primary fight was also arrested and charged with assault.
