1. One arrested in South Hall
Police arrested a freshman Thursday in South Residence Hall, 404 Kentucky Blvd., on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to an MU Police Department arrest report.
Officers received a call from student staff referencing a strong odor of marijuana on one of the floors and responded at 12:29 a.m. The officers searched the room of Daniel McCormack, 19, and found a small amount of marijuana in his possession. McCormick was arrested on suspicion of possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
2. Freshman charged with possession of fake ID
At 10:18 p.m. Thursday officers patrolling the area of South College Avenue observed a vehicle traveling without its headlights turned on.
They stopped the vehicle and asked the driver for his identification. Brett Weber, 19, started to give it to them but tried to take it back and hide parts of his wallet. The officers discovered that Weber was in possession of a false ID that identified him as over 21, in addition to his legal ID that described him as a minor. Weber was arrested on suspicion of possession of false identification.
3.MUPD officers arrest allegedly drunk freshman
At 1:12 a.m. Friday, MU Police Department officers arrested freshman Alycia Drost, 19, on suspicion of possession of alcohol by a minor.
Drost was seen walking down Rollins Street near Strickland Hall and seemed visibly intoxicated to the police officers.
According to a police report Drost was with a friend, but her companion was not arrested. After confirming that Drost was drunk and a minor, she was arrested as a minor in possession of intoxicating beverages through consumption.
4: Three arrested after fight at Shiloh Bar and Grill
Wesley Hader, 30, and Scott Erickson Harness, 25, were arrested at 1:05 a.m. Saturday after they began physically fighting at Shiloh Bar and Grill, located at 402 E. Broadway.
Upon arrival, Columbia police officers arrested both Harness and Hader on suspicion of disturbing the peace. Officers also arrested KayMaree Hofheins, 34, when she tried to interfere with the investigation, according to police reports. All three subjects were released on a summons.
5: One arrested after residential break-in
Police were called at 9:20 p.m. in response to a break-in at the 5400 block of Baseline Place on Saturday night, according to Columbia Police Department reports.
When they arrived, Anthony Acton, 20, was arrested on suspicion of one count of first-degree burglary and one count of misdemeanor theft.
The resident told police Acton had entered the home, found money and other valuable items and took them from the house. Acton’s bond was set at $500 for the misdemeanor stealing and has yet to be set for the burglary charge.
6: Man breaks into car in Country Kitchen parking lot, hides under porch
Donald James Brown, 17, was arrested at about 12:23 a.m. Sunday when an officer saw Brown break into a car in the parking lot of Country Kitchen, located at 1712 N. Providence Road.
According to police reports, the officer saw Brown smash the car window and take a bag out of the car. The officer tried to call to Brown, but Brown ran away from the scene. Police chased Brown and found him hiding beneath the porch of a residence in the 1900 block of Vandiver Drive. Brown was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, first-degree tampering and theft. His bond was set at $4,500 each for resisting arrest and first-degree tampering, as well as a $500 bond for theft.
