1. Man brings dog into hospital, refuses to leave
A man was arrested on multiple charges Monday afternoon at University Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive. Hospital security contacted the MU Police Department at about 2 p.m. after Ricky Crawley, 52, brought a non-service dog into the hospital and refused to cooperate with officers, MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer said. He was uncooperative and resisted the officers, according to police reports. Crawley was arrested on charges of first-degree trespassing and resisting arrest.
2. Two sophomores arrested after noise violation
CPD officers arrested two MU sophomores at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about a peace disturbance near the 2400 block of Nifong Boulevard. After arriving in the area, the officers heard loud music coming from a residence at The Cottages and made contact with Eric Loebig, 20, who was in possession of alcohol at the time. After determining Loebig was a minor, the officers contacted the other resident of the apartment, Timothy Luetkemeyer, 20, who had a small amount of marijuana in plain view, according to a police report. Both were arrested on charges of disturbing the peace, possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Loebig received the additional charge of possession of alcohol by a minor.
UPDATE: Charges for Loebig were reduced.
3. CPD arrest two on drug charges
At 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, officers patrolling near 16 Business Loop 70 stopped Ralph Carter, 48, in his vehicle. After determining Carter was driving with a revoked driver’s license, they searched the vehicle and found what appeared to be methamphetamines and a prescription medication that did not belong to Carter or the other occupant of the vehicle, John Smith, 50. A set of scales was also found in the car, CPD spokeswoman Stephanie Drouin said. Carter and Smith were both arrested on charges of distribution/delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, with Carter receiving the additional charge of driving with a revoked license.
4. One arrested on assault charges
CPD officers arrested a man at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman near the 100 block of Leslie Lane. The victim told the officers Liedell Smith-Wilkerson, 18, had punched her in the nose and thrown her purse into the street, damaging her cell phone. Smith-Wilkerson was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage. Smith-Wilkerson also had two misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest, according to a police report.
