####Two charged with shoplifting from Walmart
Officers were dispatched to a Walmart Supercenter, located at 1201 Grindstone Parkway, in response to a shoplifting incident Monday. According to a police report, loss prevention officers had two females in custody at 2:41 p.m. when officers arrived. Katasia Taylor, 18, and Sherry Bowman, 35, were found trying to exit the store with a cart full of items they had not paid for. Both were arrested on suspicion of felony theft.
####MUPD finds freshman with open container in study room
MU police officers responded to reports of a minor drinking in North Hall just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. Officers found freshman Kyle McIntyre, 19, in a study room with an open alcohol container on a table. There was one other individual with McIntyre at the time of his arrest. McIntyre was arrested on suspicion of possession of alcohol by a minor.
####One arrested on computer tampering charges
A Columbia police officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of Walnut Street at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday. CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said a male victim broke up with his girlfriend, Blanca Botero, 44, and Botero responded by hacking into the victim’s computer and changing several passwords. The officer arrested Botero on suspicion of tampering with computer data and released her on signature summons.
####Two arrested on drug-related charges at local motel
Columbia police responded to a disturbance call at Eastwood Motel, 2518 Business Loop 70, at 12:33 a.m. Wednesday. The officer contacted Larry Jones, 46, who gave the officer permission to search his room. Tonny Matthews, 47, was also in the room. According to a police report, the officer found items associated with drug use that belonged to both men during the search. Matthews and Jones were both arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
5. CPD officers charge one with assault
At 4:18 a.m. Thursday, a Columbia police officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Parkside Drive in response to a disturbance. A female victim told police she was assaulted by a relative named Lynique Johnson, 29. Stroer said Johnson punched the victim in the face and chest. Johnson was arrested on suspicion of third-degree domestic violence.
