####Police find hashish, mushrooms in suspect’s apartment
A search warrant for 1614 Amelia St., Apt. 3A resulted in the arrest of Ryan C. Leer, 25, and Michael P. Leer, 24, at 11 a.m. Friday. Columbia police officers found more than 10 containers of high-grade marijuana, multiple containers of hashish, a large number of psilocybin mushrooms, clonazepam, smoking accessories including bongs and pipes that smelled of marijuana and $4,000 in cash. Ryan Leer was in the apartment during the search and was charged with four counts of distribution/delivery/manufacture/production of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Leer arrived at the apartment during the search and was charged with three counts of distribution/delivery/manufacture/production of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Boone County Jail.
####Three arrested after police chase
A Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputy attempted to stop a vehicle at 6:20 p.m. Friday after noticing a license violation. As the deputy tried to catch up to the vehicle, it sped up and turned into Woods Mill subdivision. Two handguns were thrown from the vehicle as the deputy followed. The vehicle drove through a mailbox, breaking the post in half, and struck a second mailbox.
The three occupants of the vehicle got out and ran. More deputies arrived and found all three suspects in the area, as well as two handguns. One of the handguns was reported stolen.
The driver, Jamin Miller, 18, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, leaving the scene of an accident and four other driving-related offenses. Passenger Evan Tillman, 18, was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and littering. The other passenger, Khalil Brown, 17, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, littering and a warrant for first-degree assault.
#### Man flees after fight, attempts to hit police officer
Richard M. Brosemer, 24, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Saturday when a Columbia police officer investigated a disturbance at 29 S. Tenth St. The police officer saw Brosemer push another man to the ground. When a third man tried to intervene, Brosemer kicked him in the face. The officer tried to hold Brosemer off, but Brosemer got away from the officer and began running. He was caught again and while he was on the ground, Brosemer grabbed the officer’s collar and vest and tried to hit the officer. He was charged with two counts of third-degree assault for attacking the two male victims, resisting arrest and third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
####17-year-old arrested after dropping Four Loko can
MU police officers arrested Masen Schroeder of Jerseyville, Ill., at approximately
2:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers on bike patrol witnessed Schroeder, 17, disposing of a
Four Loko can on the ground and went to arrest him on a littering charge.
“He didn’t cooperate with officers when they tried to handcuff him and kept pulling
his arms away,” MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer said.
Schroeder was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, littering and minor in possession of alcohol.
