####19-year-old caught with marijuana in parking lot
MU police arrested Kevin Abts at 11:21 p.m. Sunday. Officers on patrol witnessed Abts, 19, smoking a cigarette in his car in lot AV-14, and marijuana was in plain view in the vehicle. He was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and minor in possession of intoxicants, MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer said.
####Woman charged with trespassing in ex-boyfriend’s home
CPD officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Chelan Drive at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday in response to a trespassing. According to CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer, when the officers arrived at the residence they heard Megan Morton, 28, screaming that she was not going to leave. A male victim informed the officers that Morton, his ex-girlfriend, had come over uninvited and grabbed his face when he told her to leave. The officers also found some broken glass in front of a window that Morton had kicked. Morton was arrested on charges of third-degree domestic assault, first-degree property damage and first-degree trespassing
####Woman reportedly assaulted with laptop
Columbia Police Department officers were sent to the 1400 block of Wilkes Boulevard at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday in response to an assault. A female victim said Diana Banks, 24, had assaulted her by throwing a laptop at her head. According to CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer, Banks and the victim knew each other. Banks fled the house after the assault, but was arrested soon after on charges of first-degree burglary and third-degree assault.
####Two teens charged with fireworks infraction
At 7:56 p.m. Wednesday, police were sent to Jefferson Junior High School, located at 713 Rogers St., after receiving a disturbance call. According to a police report, two teenagers had set off a firework on the grounds of the school. CPD officers found Darrian Weiman, 19, and a 15-year-old juvenile at the intersection of Wilkes Boulevard and Sixth Street. Weiman was charged with reckless burning or exploding and the 15-year-old was taken into custody.
####Officer finds blunts in car ashtray
On Thursday, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle in the Oakland Park parking lot after hours. At 12:25 a.m., the officer observed two people inside the car and noticed a lot of smoke inside the vehicle that smelled of marijuana. According to a police report, the occupants of the car, Shuan Meriweather, 25, and Briana Hatton, 17, gave the officer permission to search the vehicle. The officer found four marijuana blunts in an ashtray and arrested both Meriweather and Hatton on charges of possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana.
