####Freshman arrested on drug charges
Officers were sent to Campus View Apartments to investigate the odor of marijuana Friday night.
Upon arriving, police made contact with Residential Life staff, who then led police to the apartment in question, MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said.
Officers arrested freshman Jackson Ervin, 18, on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana, according to MUPD police reports.
Ervin was found in possession of a multicolored pipe, a second pipe broken into two pieces and an empty package of Zig-Zag blueberry cigar wraps, Weimer said.
Ervin was arrested and released on signature summons.
####One arrested on drug charges in Hawthorn Hall
Police were dispatched to Hawthorn Hall to investigate possible narcotics activity Friday night.
Residential Life staff escorted police to the room of Jose Effinger, 18, Weimer said.
Officers arrested Effinger on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and purchase or possession of intoxicants by a minor, according to MUPD police reports.
Effinger was found in possession of White Owl cigarillos as well as a small scale, Weimer said.
Effinger was transported to the police department. After being fingerprinted and photographed, Effinger was released on signature summons.
####Man arrested on DWI charges at sobriety checkpoint
Officers apprehended a drunk driver at a Boone County sobriety checkpoint early Saturday morning.
David Lefever, 35, was stopped in the area of Providence Road and Recreation Drive, Weimer said.
Officers arrested him on charges of driving while intoxicated, specifically while under the influence of alcohol, according to MUPD police reports.
Lefever was released to Boone County personnel, and his car was towed from the scene.
####Woman arrested for driving without a license
MUPD arrested a 19-year-old woman Sunday evening at the intersection of Kentucky Boulevard and Tiger Avenue.
Brittany Burton was originally pulled over for driving without a license plate, Weimer said.
The officer soon discovered she was driving without a valid license. Burton had an expired driving permit, Weimer said.
Police arrested Burton on charges of driving without an operator’s license and operating an unlicensed motor vehicle.
Burton was transported to the police department and released on signature summons.
