“Pitch Perfect” documents an all-female college a capella group’s rise to success through months of practice, angst and pitch-slapping. The story follows college freshman Beca, who wants to become a famous disc jockey in Los Angeles but is forced to attend Barden University due to her father’s disapproval. While working at the school’s radio station, Beca meets a boy and learns an a capella group, The Barden Bellas, is looking for new members.
After their humiliating defeat to Treble Makers, the all-male a capella group, the year prior, the Bellas are looking for redemption, respect and, most of all, revenge. Beca decides to audition and passes a series of tests along with standout characters like Fat Amy. The boy she works with at the station also passed the same kind of tests to become a rival Treble Maker, creating dissonance between the two of them.
Both the Treble Makers and Bellas aim to win the international a capella contest, creating inevitable tension, forbidden romance and aca-madness. Viewers are sure to laugh and sing along with the popular a capella mash-ups. This musical comedy is pitch perfect for all ages.
