####Man arrested after allegedly killing victim’s dog
At 2:31 a.m. on Sept. 22, Columbia police officers were dispatched to 2611 Quail Drive in reference to a disturbance. The caller said his brother killed the family’s dog, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. Officers arrived on scene and found the male victim, who informed officers of a disturbance the previous night that had continued to the following night. The male victim, the suspect’s girlfriend and another male victim were walking downtown when Ruben Jarvis, 31, approached them and assaulted the male victim and his brother. After the three returned home from downtown, they found out Jarvis killed their dog and had admitted to doing so in a text to his brother. Jarvis was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Thursday on charges of third-degree domestic assault, second-degree property damage and third-degree assault.
####One arrested after fight in club
CPD officers working special detail early Friday in the area of 101 S. Fifth St. were alerted to three subjects who were pushing each other in a nightclub. At approximately 12:41 a.m., a witness told officers the three suspects had left together, Stroer said. Officers located the victim, who had a laceration on his face and was bleeding. The suspect who punched the victim was identified as John Watson. Watson, 19, was arrested on charges of assault and purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor, and he was released on signature summons.
####Woman arrested after breaking window
Columbia police officers were dispatched at 2:03 p.m. Saturday after receiving a call about Tina Chandler, 20, breaking the front window of a residence in the 1400 block of Smiley Lane, Stroer said. Chandler was arrested for second-degree property damage and released on signature summons.
####Man arrested after allegedly slapping victim in face
A witness called CPD officers at 8:59 p.m. Saturday after seeing Joseph Ringkamp, 21, approach the victim and antagonize him at 124 S. Ninth St., Stroer said. Ringkamp allegedly slapped the male victim multiple times in the face and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault and released on signature summons.
