####One arrested after ‘smiley face’ graffiti found downtown
Several locations downtown were victim to a tagger. The incidents continued until a Columbia woman filed a report after finding her car tagged with a spray-painted smiley face outside The Blue Fugue behind 120 S. 9th Street. Eric Croft, 32, was suspected of the crime and detained at Roxy’s, where the signature tag was found in the bathroom. After more evidence was collected by Columbia police officers, Croft was arrested at 3:39 p.m. Monday on second-degree property damage charges, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
####Eighteen-year-old arrested after fight in Schurz
MU police officers were dispatched to Schurz Hall at 904 S. College Avenue at 2:02 p.m., Tuesday. Chang Hsu, 18, was arrested on simple assault charges after getting in a physical altercation and punching the victim in the face in addition to kicking him, MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said.
####Woman arrested after throwing dirty linens, punching coworker
Ronesha Allen, 22, became physically violent with a coworker at 5:57 a.m. Saturday. Thinking he was talking about her, Allen threw dirty linens at him and then punched him in the face 10 times. By the time Columbia police officers arrived at 2600 McGuire Boulevard, Allen had fled the scene and the victim was taken to the hospital for cuts on his face and a bloody nose. Allen was arrested at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on third-degree assault charges.
####Woman arrested in men’s restroom in local park
Columbia police officers were dispatched to Cosmo-Bethel Park, located at 4500 Bethel Street, after a call about a suspicious incident at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday. Joint Communications informed officers that a black man and a woman, later identified as Alvenus Roland, went into the men’s restroom and were making noises. Only Roland, 29, was found in the restroom once officers arrived on scene. Roland was arrested for the using a restroom designated for the opposite sex.
####Man attempts to rob woman at junior high, turns self in
A woman at Jefferson Junior High School was approached by a 6-foot black man who demanded her car keys at 3:31 p.m. Wednesday. When she refused, he punched her in the face and left the scene on foot. At 6:14 p.m. Wednesday, Marquez Marshall turned himself in at the CPD in connection with the incident. Marshall, 17, implicated himself and was arrested on charges of second-degree robbery and third-degree assault.
