####Intoxicated driver pulled over for faulty headlight
Jared Riley, 19, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated at 2:10 a.m. Saturday. A Columbia Police Department officer was traveling west on Vandiver Drive near Parker Street and observed a black vehicle traveling east on the same road. The faulty passenger side headlight caught the officer’s attention. At 2000 Vandiver Drive the officer pulled the vehicle over and contacted the driver. Upon further investigation the driver was found to be intoxicated. Riley was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated.
####Cops arrest three at small party
CPD officers patrolling the area of 10th Street and Broadway were approached by a security officer of some East Broadway apartments at 2:00 a.m. Saturday. The officers proceeded to go to the 1015 East Broadway apartment in response to a loud party consisting of approximately 15 people. One subject stood at the doorway and upon seeing the officers, tried to escape by running in the apartment. Patrick Scheer, George Rogers and Benjamin Stadler were arrested on nuisance charges. Scheer, 20, was also arrested on charges of minor in possession of alcohol. Stadler received the additional charge of disobedience to a police officer. Rogers, 21, was also arrested on charges of resisting arrest, second-degree property damage and third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer when he broke an officer’s camera while trying to punch the officer during his arrest.
####Intoxicated minors arrested in Greektown
MU police officers on patrol observed a group of individuals walking down Curtis Avenue in Greektown openly displaying cups at 11:37 p.m. Saturday. From experience, officers knew the cups contained mixed drinks and approached the individuals. Conner Bunch, 19, was asked for his ID and gave the officer a fake. When a member of the group made a comment to Bunch telling him to give the officer the real ID, Bunch ran. He was apprehended when he tripped on mulch and fell to the ground. Bunch was arrested on charges of minor in possession of alcohol, resisting arrest and false identification. Another individual in the group, Jordan Goodman, 18, was arrested on minor in possession of alcohol charges at the scene, said MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer.
####Vehicle linked with drug activity stopped, two arrested
A black Chevrolet truck known for drug activity was stopped at 1501 Vandiver Drive by Street Crimes Unit officers of CPD at 2:03 a.m. Sunday. Anthony Warren, 25, and Creston Johnson, 28, got out of the vehicle and attempted escape by running. Both subjects were arrested after a short foot chase. Two small bags of marijuana were found on the ground by Warren and Johnson. A package of cocaine and five individual packages of foil containing heroin were also found by officers. Warren and Johnson were both arrested on charges of distribution/delivery/ manufacturing of controlled substances and on charges of resisting arrest.
####Man arrested for driving with headlights off
Christopher Faron, 22, was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Sunday by an MU police officer on routine patrol. The officer noticed Faron’s parking lights were on but not his headlights. After observing Faron continue to drive without the headlights on, the officer pulled the car over at 126 South Providence Road and determined Faron to be intoxicated. Faron was then arrested on failure to display lighted lamps on a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and failure to drive within a single lane charges. He was also arrested for being unable to produce insurance because the car was not registered to him.
