It’s a little known fact that cinnamon makes everything better. When I saw that Campus Dining Services had added cinnamon to the spice rack, I knew exactly what I was going to make: Warms pears, topped with a layer of honey and cinnamon. The final result was a perfect dessert with warm, sweet goodness in every bite. For those feeling adventurous, add a sprinkling of crushed walnuts. For the ultimate dessert, add a scoop of real vanilla ice cream. It is perfection.
Ingredients:
4 to 5 pear halves
A drizzling of honey
A generous covering of cinnamon
Optional:
A scoop of vanilla ice cream
4 to 5 walnuts, crushed
Directions:
Place the pear halves in a bowl making sure that each pear is fairly exposed. Drizzle honey over the halves. Microwave the pears for about 30 to 40 seconds on medium. Cover the pears with cinnamon. Seriously, you want them to be absolutely covered. Stir it a couple of times to distribute the cinnamon. Either enjoy its simplicity, sprinkle walnuts or add ice cream to make it even better.
