####Drunk man unable to drive in right lane
MU police arrested a 36-year-old man at Rock Quarry Road and Grindstone Parkway on Monday night after observing his white Cadillac Escalade cross over the double line and drift back into the right lane repeatedly. Police pulled the vehicle over near The Grove, according to MUPD reports.
Police conducted a sobriety test and arrested Jeremy Gorham on charges of driving while intoxicated as a prior offender and failing to drive on the right half of the road.
Gorham was transported to Boone County Jail where he was released on a $500 bond.
####Student flips off bus driver, files false report
Police arrested Jason Hamilton, 20, on Monday morning after investigating a claim he made about being almost hit by a city bus while skateboarding down Rollins Street on Monday morning.
Police made contact with the bus station and retrieved the video footage from the bus, which depicts Hamilton traveling east on Rollins Street, disregarding the stop sign at the intersection of Rollins and Hitt streets.
As Hamilton continued down Rollins Street, the bus turned southward on Virgina Avenue. The video showed a car’s width of space between Hamilton and the bus, according to MUPD reports.
Hamilton proceeded to flip the bus driver off, and the bus driver returned the gesture, MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer said.
Hamilton got off of his board and ran in front of the bus, resulting in a conversation between Hamilton and the bus driver.
After reviewing the video, police arrested Hamilton on charges of running a stop sign and knowingly giving a false report to the police. Hamilton was released on summons.
####Expired plates lead to additional charges
Police arrested Jeri Harvey, 27, on Tuesday morning at East Stadium Boulevard and College Avenue.
Police were driving by and noticed Harvey’s expired license plate. Police pulled Harvey over and discovered the individual also had a suspended driver’s license and was unable to present proof of insurance.
Harvey was arrested on charges of operating an unlicensed motor vehicle, driving under suspension and failing to exhibit proof of insurance. Harvey was released on summons.
####Police obtain search warrant after drug dealer assaults client
Officers of the Columbia Police Department responded to an assault at 1:40 a.m. Monday at 305 Highview Ave.
The female caller suggested that Curtis Dale Jones, 24, came to the residence to make a drug deal but got into an argument with her and threatened her with a handgun. Of the four other subjects in the house besides the victim, three ran out the back door when the argument began. Jones hit the victim in the head with the gun and a bullet was accidentally fired into the refrigerator.The victim’s injuries were treated at a local hospital.
Officers located Jones at a Fourth Street residence Wednesday evening, after getting permission to enter from the homeowner. Jones was found in a bedroom rolling a joint, while marijuana and a digital scale were sitting on a nightstand.
After obtaining a search warrant, police discovered more marijuana, cocaine and a handgun. Five others were arrested and charged.
####Woman turns herself in for false prescription
Stacie M. Gilmore, 27, turned herself into police Monday morning after filling a false prescription for 30 Vicodin at the Sam’s Club on Conley Road.
Gilmore used a false patient name after an unsuccessful attempt at Walmart, which was out of the medication. Gilmore was charged with fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance on a bond of $4,500.
