####Man runs red light, arrested on DWI charge
Police arrested Marcus Williams, 23, at College Avenue and Walnut Street early Monday morning.
Williams was pulled over after running a red light, MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said. Officers conducted a field sobriety test and then arrested Williams on charges of driving while intoxicated and running a red light, according to MUPD reports.
Williams was transported to Boone County Jail and released on a $500 bond.
####One pulled over, arrested for driving without license
Officers arrested David Wright, 34, at noon Monday on Stadium Boulevard and College Avenue.
While conducting radar enforcement at Stadium and College, police pulled Wright over for driving 16 MPH over the speed limit. After running his information, police discovered that Wright’s license was revoked, according to MUPD reports.
Wright was arrested on charges of exceeding the posted speed limit and driving without a license. He was transported to Boone County Jail and released on a $4,700 bond.
####Expired tag leads to arrest
Police arrested Nawaf Almalki, 25, on Monday afternoon at Stadium Boulevard and College Avenue
While conducting radar enforcement at Stadium and College, police spotted the expired license plate on Almalki’s vehicle. After pulling Almalki over, police discovered he did not have a driver’s license, according to MUPD reports.
Almalki was arrested on charges of driving without a license, transported to MUPD, and
issued two summons.
####Man arrested on DWI charges, passenger attempts to drive away
Police arrested Jacob Wickham, 26, and Kayla Smith, 22, just after midnight Tuesday at Locust and Waugh Street.
After Williams failed to stop at a stop sign, police pulled him over and conducted a field sobriety test. Williams was arrested on charges of a stop sign violation and driving while intoxicated. Williams was transported to MUPD and released on a $500 bond, according to MUPD reports.
Smith, a passenger in the car, was also intoxicated. Smith exited the car during the traffic stop and came toward the officers cursing and refusing to get back into the vehicle. Police repeatedly offered to call Smith a cab so she would have a ride home because Wickham’s car was going to be towed, but she refused.
When police told Smith she was free to go, she began to walk toward the driver’s side of the vehicle, attempting to get in and drive away. Smith was arrested on charges of failing to comply with the lawful order of a police officer and resisting or interfering with arrest. Smith was released from MUPD on $500 bond, according to MUPD reports.
