####Man arrested on DWI charge
MU police officers arrested Joseph Webb, 22, at Broadway and Ripley Street early Wednesday morning.
Officers pulled Webb over after observing his vehicle repeatedly cross back and forth
over the lines marking his lane. While speaking to Webb, the officer noticed the odor of
intoxicants and conducted a field sobriety test, according to MU Police Department reports.
Webb was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and transported to Boone County Jail. Webb was released on a $500 bond.
####Woman without license arrested driving unregistered vehicle
MUPD officers arrested Britney Baker, 25, at University Avenue and Ninth Street on Wednesday
night.
After observing her unregistered vehicle, police signaled for Baker to pull over. As she
stopped her vehicle, police noticed that the driver’s side brake light wasn’t working.
After making contact with Baker and running her information, it was discovered that she was driving with a suspended license and that she had an active warrant in the city of Columbia, according to MUPD reports.
Baker was arrested on charges of driving without a license, failing to register her car and failing to maintain financial responsibility. Baker was transported to MUPD, where she posted a $150 bond and was issued three summonses.
Baker was then transported to Boone County Jail and released on a $1,364.50 bond.
####One charged with paraphernalia possession at Laws Hall
On Wednesday night, MUPD officers arrested Rex Ebert, 19, on the charge of possessing drug paraphernalia at Laws Hall.
Police responded to a report of marijuana smoke coming out of one of the residence hall rooms. Police arrived on the scene and made contact with Residential Life and were taken to the individual’s room. Police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the room, according to MUPD reports.
Police made contact with Ebert and found a glass pipe, leading to the charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Ebert was released on summons.
####Man arrested on trespassing charge at Wolpers Hall
MUPD officers arrested Bryce Wandix, 18, on the charge of first-degree trespassing at Wolpers Hall late Wednesday night. Wandix is not an MU student.
In response to an earlier report of trespassing, police continued to search for Wandix and successfully made contact with him on Wednesday. Wandix came in to the department to meet with police about the situation, according to MUPD reports.
Wandix said he hadn’t been back to Wolpers Hall after he had been given warning, but two individuals reported seeing him there, MUPD spokesman Brian Weimer said.
Wandix was arrested on the charge of first-degree trespassing and released on summons.
####Man assaults police officer, EMT
Police arrested Matthew Lambert, 27, on Wednesday night after they were dispatched to Broadway Business Park Court, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. Lambert was found asleep by a construction site. When officers were investigating the scene, one officer asked Lambert not touch him when he did. In response to this, Lambert backed up, extended his arms and charged at the officer with a fist.
Officers called an ambulance to the scene to pick Lambert up. When the ambulance arrived, Lambert assaulted the emergency medical technician. Lambert was missing a shoe, which officers located in a nearby trailer which had its window broken. Police charged Lambert with third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, second-degree property damage and resisting or interfering with arrest.
