Let’s be honest. Anyone who doesn’t know Justin Timberlake has probably been living under a rock. The former *NSYNC member’s third solo album, _The 20/20 Experience_ is getting plenty of hype.
iTunes released free streaming of the album March 11, and the album was officially released March 19. Within the first week, it sold 968,000 copies.
Listening to the album makes it clear why it is such a big hit. Timberlake took the signature R&B sound of his two previous solo albums and developed it into something new and experimental. It is a compilation of a variety of songs that showcase what he is capable of as a singer.
_The 20/20 Experience_ has songs ranging from “Pusher Lover Girl,” a smooth track about his love for wife Jessica Biel, to “Don’t Hold the Wall,” and “Let the Groove Get In,” both upbeat, dance-style songs. The album ends with “Blue Ocean Floor,” a mellow, almost sad-sounding ballad.
The only downside to this album is the patience it requires to listen to. It includes only 10 tracks, but seven of them are more than 7 minutes long. However, it’s easy to hear the work that Timberlake put into each song. Plus, he deserves major husband points for making his love for Biel so obvious throughout the album.
