The MU Police Department sent out the first Clery release of 2013 in response to two reports of sexual misconduct that occurred Wednesday.
According to the Clery release, the first reported sexual offense occurred at about 5:20 p.m. when a female victim approached a parked car in University Parking Lot WG-11. The victim said the vehicle appeared to have been following her before it parked.
The victim reported seeing a white man about 30 years old with light-colored hair and some facial hair exposing himself from inside his car.
The second reported incident occurred at 5:56 p.m. Another woman was walking along Tiger Avenue when she noticed a vehicle driving slowly next to her. The second victim saw the driver exposing himself and described him as a gray-haired, young-looking man without facial hair. The second victim estimated he was in his late 20s to early 30s.
The suspect was last seen driving south on Tiger Avenue.
According to both women, the suspect was driving a red vehicle. The first victim said the car was a cherry red four-door vehicle from the mid- to late 90s that could possibly be a Honda Civic, according to the Clery release. The second female described the car as an older model with the first three digits of the license plate reading “UA0.”
“I wouldn’t expect that to happen at Mizzou, let alone twice,” senior Christian Berni said. “I hope they catch this guy.”
MUPD sent out a similar Clery release on June 3, 2012, that reported a man exposing himself in the University Avenue parking garage at 3:46 p.m.
MUPD sent out the notification to the campus so the community could be aware of the incident and make educated choices about their safety, the release stated.
