A new restaurant delivery service in Columbia allows people to enjoy meals at home from restaurants that don’t have their own delivery services.
Customers can visit [Mr.Delivery.com](http://mrdelivery.com/) to view full restaurant menus and place their order. The order is then sent to the restaurant and prepared for a Mr. Delivery driver to pick up and deliver to the customer’s home.
“Our focus is on customer service and on-time delivery,” CEO Laurence Levine said. “If we experience a late order, we haven’t done our job correctly. If a customer experiences a late order, we personally deliver a box of chocolates or an artisan cupcake to them. In our St. Louis market we deliver cupcakes from Cupcake Wars winner Jilly’s Cupcakes to any customer with a late delivery.”
The chain of restaurant services — which goes by the name of Straight2yourDoor in other locations — started in South Africa twenty-one years ago and then relocated to the U.S., where it has since opened twelve locations.
After experiencing success at their site in St. Louis, Mr. Delivery decided to open in the college town of Columbia. Columbia is one of its more recent locations, opening a couple of weeks ago.
“Focusing on college towns resonates well with us,” CIO Dylan Benjamin said. “Jason Moldoff and I teamed up in 2005 while we were students at Indiana University to found Straight2yourDoor.”
Columbia is one of the first sites to start operating under the name Mr. Delivery, but all locations will take the name starting in September.
Thirteen restaurants have already signed with the service in Columbia, such as Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Fridays and The Rome, and they hope to have fifty within the next couple of months.
“We’re very excited to be a part of the Columbia business culture,” said Lee Anne Benjamin, Mr. Delivery director of social media. “This is a great city with an awesome restaurant scene.”
