The following investigations are in progress, and the following people were arrested or issued summons, according to police reports.
**1. MAN ARRESTED FOR WEAPONS VIOLATION**
Officers arrested Daniel Cohen, 26, after he exited Roxy’s bar on East Broadway on Sunday. When officers approached him as he was leaving the bar, Cohen attempted to run, throwing a gun under a car as he fled. After chasing Cohen, officers apprehended him and retrieved the gun. Cohen was arrested for resisting or interfering with arrest, tampering with physical evidence, unlawful use of a weapon and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of a traffic violation. Cohen is being held on bond.
**2. FIREARM ASSAULT LEADS TO ARREST**
Matthew Akins, 24, was arrested Saturday after he arrived at a victim’s residence at 7600 Block of N. Highway VV and created a commotion. The victim reported that during the confrontation, Akins pulled out a gun and threatened him with it. As Akins left, he shot the ground in front of the victim. No one was injured. Akins was charged with one count of first-degree assault, one count of armed criminal action and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
**3. NO ARRESTS MADE IN HOME INVASION**
A home invasion occurred Friday on Ponderosa Street. The resident said two unknown males entered his home by kicking down the door. The resident said he was in a back room when they were entering, but he armed himself with a handgun and went to search for the perpetrators. Upon seeing the armed resident, the suspects ran to an upstairs room and escaped through a window in an unknown direction. No one was injured, and nothing was stolen.
**4. CPD SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN VANDALIZING INCIDENT**
Police are looking for two men who broke into the compound at Cosmo Park between 2-4 a.m. Saturday. The pair stole a maintenance truck with a key inside and drove around the park, damaging three baseball fields. They then left the truck submerged in an irrigation pond. Police collected fingerprint evidence from the scene and the incident was caught on video.
**5. FRESHMAN ARRESTED FOR INTOXICANT POSSESSION**
Freshman Steven Suess, 19, was arrested at 3:09 a.m. Aug. 29, at Stankowski Field for purchase and possession of intoxicants by a minor. Officers said he was highly intoxicated. Police first had Suess call a sober friend to pick him up and then called medics to look at him. Suess was unable to answer the medics’ questions and was transported to the hospital and released on summons.
**6. WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER RUNNING STOP SIGN**
Officers pulled over junior Kristin Taylor, 21, after she failed to stop at a stop sign and was found to be driving while intoxicated. She was arrested at Locust and South Tenth streets at 12:05 a.m. Aug. 30. Taylor has been released on a $500 bond.
**7. SENIOR ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING**
Senior Jacob Goslin, 22, and two others were arrested for first-degree trespassing after officers found them on the roof of Jesse Hall. They were arrested at 801 College Ave. at 12:36 a.m. Aug. 30 and were all released on summons.
**8. RED LIGHT VIOLATION LEADS TO ARREST**
Brian Stevens, 38, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Aug. 31. Stevens was pulled over after running a red light and was then found to be driving under suspension. He was arrested at East Stadium Boulevard and College Avenue and has been released on summons.
**9. LITTERING LEADS TO ARREST**
Freshman John Kraft was arrested on Maryland Avenue, just north of Stankowski Field, at 3:17 a.m. Sept. 3. for littering. Kraft was released on summons.
