If you’re willing to drive 20 miles to travel back in time to the ’50s, The 63 Diner is the place to go.
Complete with a life-size Elvis statue, posters from the decade covering the walls and plenty of neon lights outside, this diner is not your typical off-the-highway restaurant.
With friendly staff, good food and an awesome atmosphere, The 63 Diner is sure to please. All of the waitresses wear poodle skirts to complete the ’50s atmosphere. And they’re happy to name off the longest list of pies you’ve ever heard.
While there, some friends and I tried their cheese fries and homemade mozzarella sticks. Both were beyond satisfying.
The homemade chili is by far some of the best chili I have ever had, though. It’s spicy with a little touch of sugar. This chili, with a side of cheese fries, is definitely worth the drive.
Make sure to leave room for dessert. The diner has a large array of pie choices sure to sooth whatever craving you are having. From the classics like apple and cherry pie to chocolate banana and chocolate turtle pie, the diner is sure to have whatever you are looking for.
This restaurant may be a little hard to find and a bit of a drive from Columbia, but the food is sure to satisfy. And who doesn’t want to feel like they’re back in the ’50s, even if just for a little while?
