**Alyssa Sturgis**
_Real life ticket master_
Wanna see the next gig at The Blue Note? Dying to catch your favorite band’s show at Mojo’s? Or what about that MSA event next week? Got your tickets?
No? Fear not. Alyssa Sturgis is here to help. As an employee of the MSA/GPC Box Office, the sophomore strategic communications major sells tickets for shows at the box office, and she is there to handle any questions you might have. (We wanted to ask, “Do we _really_ have to pay the $2 Blue Note cover charge?” but were interrupted by a group who’d come to, y’know, actually buy tickets. The box office gets busy around lunchtime.)
The Houston native says she enjoys the on-campus job because it’s “super convenient” and allows her to “work with great people”; although, we’re sure the free tickets don’t hurt.
**Alexandra Weishaar**
_Defined by a sense of community_
The bell on the door of Woody’s, an upscale-casual men’s clothing store, rings as two customers walk in.
“How can I help you?” asks Alexandra Weishaar, Woody’s general manager. She proceeds to tell the man and woman the latest sale at Woody’s.
The store opened in November of last year, and Weishaar is trying to put Woody’s name “out there.”
A 2012 MU graduate, Weishaar has experience in customer service. She worked at Harpo’s Bar & Grill throughout college.
“Game days at Harpo’s — you can’t beat that,” she says. “It’s the Harpo’s tradition.”
It seems like Weishaar is infected with the Columbia bug.
“I don’t see myself leaving for a long time,” she says.
She’s left once before, when her family moved to South Carolina. And though that home had a similar vibe to Columbia, CoMo holds a tradition she can’t leave behind: her (second) family.
