Columbia Police are investigating an armed robbery in the 200 block of West Broadway at the Parkway Apartments.

At 1:29 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the apartment. Three victims had been waiting for a friend, who arrived with two other men and was armed with a handgun.

The friend demanded money and fighting ensued, with the friend striking one victim on the head with the handgun.

“(The victim) had several small lacerations to the top of his head,” Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.

Stroer said neither the victims nor the suspects sustained any other injuries.

After the scuffle, the three male suspects fled in an undetermined direction without any of the victims’ property.

Officers recovered more than 20 pieces of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana while processing the crime scene.

There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
