Columbia Police are investigating a vandalism incident at Broadway Brewery committed between 2 and 7 a.m. Sunday, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
It is unclear if this incident is related to the other recent downtown vandalism incidents at businesses such as Lakota Coffee, Coffee Zone, Iron Tiger Tattoo and Gunther’s Games. Several of the businesses had windows smashed. Lakota Coffee also had red paint thrown on its awning.
“(The vandalism) occurs late at night when the business has already closed, after midnight until about 6 a.m.,” Columbia Police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
Video surveillance from the brewery shows the suspect is a white male. At the time of the incident, he was wearing only denim shorts and dark shoes.
The suspect smashed through a window to enter the premises, according to the report.
“There was no other damage to the business except the broken window,” Stroer said.
The investigation is ongoing.
“Right now, we don’t have any suspect information besides these photos,” Stroer said. “Nothing was left at the scene.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers or the Columbia Police Department.
