A student was found unresponsive in a residence northeast of campus Sunday evening, and was later pronounced dead at the Boone Hospital Center.
Columbia Police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said Chris Nicklow, 20, was found in the bathroom of a residence at 310 N. William St. where he was visiting.
Stroer said officers were dispatched at 7:32 p.m. to a medical emergency and Nicklow was transported to the hospital.
Nicklow is listed in the MU Directories as a sophomore studying food science and nutrition. He was from Medina, Minnesota, according to [Sigma Pi’s website](http://www.mizzousigmapi.com/members/).
Stacey Huck, an investigator with the Boone County Medical Examiner’s office, said an autopsy has not yet been performed and no cause of death has been determined.
Chapter director Scott Evans released the following statement: “The men of Sigma Pi Fraternity are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother and friend, Chris Nicklow. Chris was an exemplary student and model brother who will be sorely missed by our Fraternity, friends, family, and the University of Missouri. We appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from the Greek community during this troubling time.”
According to the [fraternity’s Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/SigmaPiMizzou), a candlelight vigil will be held in front of the Sigma Pi house at 808 S. Providence Rd. at 10 p.m. on Tuesday to honor Nicklow.
Members of the MU community began tweeting about Nicklow’s death Sunday night.
